Adelaide University Soccer Club (AUSC) continues to build a club environment where diversity, equality and inclusion are at the heart of the player, coach and volunteer experience.
Over the past two years, the club has taken the time to evaluate its programs and listen to feedback from its playing members. This process has helped AUSC identify ways to improve the experience for everyone involved, with a particular focus on creating a stronger and more supportive female football culture.
AUSC has worked to ensure that female players are provided with the same opportunities to participate, develop and enjoy their football. A key part of this has been providing dedicated and understanding coaching support for players at every stage of their football journey. This approach has helped increase enjoyment, improve training numbers and provide a stronger foundation for the continued growth of female football at the club.
The club's commitment to creating opportunities for women is also reflected in its coaching structure. For the 2026/27 season, AUSC has appointed eight female junior coaches, as well as a female goalkeeper coach and a female Technical Director. These positions not only provide greater opportunities for women within football but also give younger players strong female role models and demonstrate that coaching and leadership pathways are open to everyone.
Female representation also extends to the club's leadership. Five women have been appointed to the AUSC Board for the 2026/27 season, including female Vice Presidents responsible for Junior Girls/Elite Women and Community Women. With these important positions held by women, AUSC is ensuring that female voices and perspectives are represented in the decisions shaping the club's future.

Building on Progress Through Club Changer
The Club Changer Program has further supported AUSC's work in diversity, equality and inclusion by providing the club with new ideas, resources and examples of how other sporting clubs are approaching female participation.
While AUSC has always had a strong focus on female football, the program has provided an opportunity to reflect on the club's existing approach and identify new ways to increase participation and strengthen the overall experience for women and girls.
One of the most valuable aspects of the program has been learning from other clubs and their approaches to female football. These insights have provided AUSC with fresh ideas and reinforced the importance of continually reviewing and improving the programs available to its members.
Through its growing female coaching network, increased representation of women in leadership, dedicated support for female players and engagement with the Club Changer Program, Adelaide University Soccer Club is continuing to create a more inclusive environment where everyone has the opportunity to participate, develop and contribute.
AUSC's progress demonstrates that creating an inclusive club culture is an ongoing process. By listening to its members, learning from other clubs and continuing to invest in opportunities for women and girls, Adelaide University Soccer Club is helping to build a stronger and more inclusive football community for the future.
