The coming weeks will see several major Cup fixtures played across South Australia, with teams from the women’s and men’s competitions competing for a place in the next stage.
The APEX Steel WNPL & WSL Cup Semi Finals will be played on Saturday 6 June at Summit Sport and Recreation Park, with four teams chasing a place in the final. The two matches will be played back-to-back, with gold coin entry supporting Variety SA.
Modbury Vista will face West Adelaide in the opening semi final at 12:00pm, before Comets take on WT Birkalla at 2:30pm.
West Adelaide enter the clash in outstanding form, having won all 10 of their league matches so far this season. Modbury Vista, meanwhile, will be looking to continue building momentum and make their mark on the Cup stage.
The second semi final is set to be another exciting contest, with Comets and WT Birkalla both enjoying strong league campaigns. Just three points separate the two sides in the top half of the table, setting up a highly competitive match with a place in the final on the line.
Attention will then turn to the Hahn Australia Cup SA Qualifying Finals at ServiceFM Stadium, where four clubs will compete for a place in the Australia Cup Round of 32 and the Federation Cup Final.
Cumberland United will take on Adelaide Cobras on Wednesday 10 June, before FK Beograd face WT Birkalla on Wednesday 17 June, with both matches kicking off at 7:15pm.
The opening Qualifying Final will see two HPG Homes State League 1 sides meet in a huge Cup clash, with both Cumberland United and Adelaide Cobras already proving they can compete against higher-division opposition.
Adelaide Cobras have reached this stage after defeating two RAA NPL sides, overcoming Para Hills Knights and Croydon FC during their Cup run. Cumberland United also booked their place in the final four with an impressive win over Adelaide City in the previous round.
With both sides knocking out RAA NPL opposition, the fixture promises to be a significant occasion as they battle for a place on the national stage and a spot in the Federation Cup Final. The fixture also highlights the strength of the HPG Homes State League 1 competition, with the winner set to follow in the footsteps of Modbury Jets, who reached the Federation Cup Final in 2022.
The second Qualifying Final will see two RAA NPL sides go head-to-head, as FK Beograd take on WT Birkalla. Birkalla currently sit top of the league table and will be looking to continue their strong season with another win in the cup. The two sides last met in Round 4, where Birkalla claimed a narrow 2-1 victory, with Tyreece Conway scoring in the 90th minute to secure all three points.
With teams competing for final spots and a place on the national stage, June promises to be a big month of Cup football across South Australia.
