Federation Cup and Carl’s Jr. Junior Cup Finals Score Big for Childhood Cancer, Donating Over $1,500!

Football SA is proud to celebrate a significant win off the field, with the Federation Cup Finals and Carl's Jr. Junior Cup Finals weekends raising over $1,500 in donations for the Childhood Cancer Association. The funds, collected through generous spectator contributions and event initiatives, will directly support the association's vital work with children and their families.

The two-weekend events saw teams compete for top honors, but the real victory was the collective effort to give back. The successful fundraising campaign is a testament to the community's passion for both sport and supporting a crucial cause.

Childhood Cancer Association Chief Executive, Cath O’Loughlin, says the association supports more than 450 families each year.
“Since 1982, our mission has been to provide practical, hands-on support to families faced with a childhood cancer diagnosis,”
Ms O’Loughlin says.

The Childhood Cancer Association delivers more than 30 vital services—such as accommodation, counselling, and educational support—completely free of charge, for as long as each family needs help.

For more than 40 years, the Association has relied solely on the generous support of the community to raise nearly $2 million annually.
“We’re incredibly grateful to Football SA, and to all the players and spectators who gave so generously at the recent Junior Cup Finals,” Ms O’Loughlin says.
“Every gold coin donation helps us continue our work and make a real difference in the lives of families going through such a challenging time.”
The money raised will assist the Childhood Cancer Association in providing essential services, including family support, counseling, and financial aid, to those affected by childhood cancer.

Football South Australia Partnership Activation and Marketing Lead, Ashlee Cameron, says;
“Football SA is proud to be involved with the Childhood Cancer Association and we thank our generous football community who contributed to such an outstanding result! The success of this initiative reinforces the power of coming together for a common goal".
