Football SA Clubs Unite for Violence Prevention Round

Football South Australia is proud to once again support the Sammy D Foundation for the 2026 Violence Prevention Round, taking place from 3–5 July.

The round brings clubs and sporting communities across South Australia together to promote respect, positive choices and safer environments for young people, both on and off the field.

Following the strong support shown by clubs in previous years, Football SA is encouraging all junior teams to get involved and take a stand against violence by wearing blue armbands throughout the weekend. The blue armbands are a simple but powerful visual reminder that violence has no place in our clubs, our communities or our lives.

Together with the Sammy D Foundation, Football SA is calling on players, coaches, volunteers, families and supporters to help spread the message of respect, mateship and making safer choices.

Sport is about more than winning. It is about courage, resilience, respect and looking out for one another. Through the Violence Prevention Round, clubs have an opportunity to start important conversations with players and supporters about the role we all play in creating safer and more positive sporting environments.

The Sammy D Foundation continues to work with young people and communities across South Australia to challenge attitudes, change behaviours and educate the next generation about the impact of violence. As a charity that receives no ongoing government funding, the Foundation relies on the support of communities to continue delivering education sessions and reaching young people before violence changes a life forever.

Every conversation matters. Every moment matters. Together, we can create safer clubs, stronger communities and a future free from violence.
