On Sunday morning the travelling squad of Metro players ran a fun and inclusive clinic for a group of young Limestone Coast players. Girls from Portland and Naracoorte joined local girls at Casadio Park to interact and play games with some of our states up and coming and brightest National Premier League ‘Stars.’
‘It’s taken a bit of work on both sides to make this event happen, but we both agree (FSA and MetroStars) that giving back to the community is such an important part to growing the game. Especially in regional areas.’ Football SA Regional Development Officer Nathan Koopman spoke of Sundays clinic experience.
‘These events really do grow the game of football in regional areas. Seeing people so excited to have a high profile organisation like MetroStars in town, especially young girls is really pleasing to see. And when players interact and show their skills, whether it’s running a clinic or playing a game. It’s shows young players a pathway that they can see and aspire to.’

Sunday saw an exciting opportunity for football fans and players alike in the Limestone Coast region. A friendly match was held as part of MetroStars Women’s preseason camp at Casadio Park in Mount Gambier.
While Metro players prepare the preseason cup, the Limestone Coast representative squad enjoyed an opportunity to test themselves against National Premier League players.

Although the final score was one sided, the match did not reflect that. With all players having moments where they were tested and a positive experience to take into their respective 2026 seasons
