8:15 pm | Wednesday 13 April | Jack Smith Park

Midweek action kicks off tonight as WT Birkalla host Football SA NTC at Jack Smith Park. WT Birkalla’s start to the 2022 season has not gone to plan after only recording one point in their first three games. The 3-0 loss to Adelaide University marks their second loss in a row, as they enter Round Four in ninth with only one goal scored. After starting their season without a win, WT Birkalla will be hoping they can quickly change their form as they look to climb the ladder.
Their Round Four opponent Football SA NTC will be no easy encounter, with the young squad yet to be beaten in their opening three fixtures this season. After their Round Three 3-0 win over Fulham United, Football SA NTC remains one of the best defensive sides in the competition, conceding only three goals. Ilah Soroush and Lily Barber both picked up their first goals of the season against Fulham United, while Victoria Costanzo will hope to continue her goal-scoring form against WT Birkalla, after recording a goal in back-to-back games.

Last Meeting: (14/8/21) Round 15 | Adelaide City 2 vs Adelaide University 2

Thursday night’s quadruple-header at VALO Football Centre will showcase an exciting matchup as two teams who are yet to drop any points thus far this season face off as Adelaide University host Adelaide City.
Adelaide University has started the 2022 season perfectly, entering the fourth round winning every game, still with a game in hand. Round Three saw Adelaide University secure a 3-0 victory over WT Birkalla, with captain Stella Rigon picking up her first of the season with an impressive freekick, while new signing Chanel Todino recorded her first goal for her new club. Currently holding the best defensive record in the competition with only one goal conceded, Adelaide University will look to continue their great defensive form against Adelaide City.

Women’s State League Preview

Sitting at the bottom of the table with zero points, Campbelltown City will be hoping to pick up their first points of the season as they host Cove FC tonight at Steve Woodcock Sports Centre. After last week’s 11-0 loss to Flinders United, Campbelltown City will be hoping to improve on what was a performance to forget. Cove FC will be hoping to return to winning ways after dropping points in a 3-3 draw with South Adelaide last round. They have a good opportunity to record their second win of the season as they face Campbelltown City who currently has the worst attacking and defensive records in the competition, as of Round Three.
Two of the remaining three undefeated teams face off tonight as Adelaide Jaguars travel to O’Sullivans Beach Sports and Community Centre as they take on South Adelaide. South Adelaide dropped their first points of the season last round as they drew with Cove FC. South Adelaide has seen to be an exciting attacking side that has scored 15 goals in their first two games of the season. They face a difficult challenge in Adelaide Jaguars who are yet to drop any points in their opening three games, which sees them sit at the top of the Women’s State League. Adelaide Jaguars will be hoping to continue their winning ways as they attempt to provide South Adelaide with their first loss of the season.
After a week off, Elizabeth Grove should be refreshed and ready to pick up their second win of the season as they take on FK Beograd at Dauntsey Reserve on Thursday night. After recording their first points of the season in a 4-1 win over Campbelltown City in Round Two, Elizabeth Grove is eager to secure their second win of the season. Their opponents FK Beograd are yet to record a point thus far after starting the season with three losses in their opening three matches. FK Beograd will be hoping to secure their first points after narrowly missing out against league leaders Adelaide Jaguars last round as they lost 3-2.
After regaining their winning form last round, Adelaide Hills will look for their third win of the season, however, face a difficult challenge in Flinders United. Adelaide Hills returned to winning ways in Round Three as they beat Modbury Jets 2-0 at home. Winning twice in their opening three matches, Adelaide Hills looks like an impressive team in 2022. Their opponents Flinders United currently sit in second and are eager to remain unbeaten heading into Round Four. Flinders United are yet to concede this season and will hope to continue their great attacking and defensive form against Adelaide Hills. They will face off on Wednesday 27th April.
Modbury Jets has received a bye in Round Four.
