Football SA NTC will look to return to winning ways after they've experienced a run where they've been winless since their Round 10 4-0 win over Metro United WFC. The team will be devasted not to have remained in the top four after they let a 2-0 lead slip against Fulham United, which has seen the team drop out of the top four into sixth. Emilia Murray secured her fourth goal of the season in their draw last week as she found the back of the net after a well-worked run, while Lily Di Cola picked up her second goal of the season just after the half-time break. With only two points separating them and fourth-placed Adelaide Comets, Football SA NTC needs to secure three points in Round 13 to keep their chase for the top four alive.

Football SA NTC secured a well-deserved 2-1 win over WT Birkalla the last time they met. Madeleine Wright opened the scoring in the 3rd minute, giving Football SA NTC an early lead, while Claire Scarpin doubled their lead just after half-time. WT Birkalla attempted to make a comeback, with Sascha Williams finding the back of the net in the 92nd minute, but it was not enough to earn a point.

Currently sitting in ninth, WT Birkalla were unfortunate to not close the three-point gap between themselves and eighth-placed Fulham United in Round 12. WT Birkalla faced a 1-0 defeat to a strong Adelaide University side, which sees them remain winless in their opening 12 games of the season. WT Birkalla is currently without a point since their Round Seven draw with Modbury Vista, which has seen them experience a five-game losing streak in the league. With only six games remaining, WT Birkalla is in desperate need of points as they look to close the gap between themselves and Fulham United.

(14/4/22) Round Four | Adelaide University 2 v Adelaide City 1

Adelaide City
Facebook: Adelaide City FC

Adelaide City jumped into the top two after securing their ninth win of the season last week against Modbury Vista. Valeria Guajardo led her team to victory last round which saw the striker contribute a brace to the victory, while a Modbury Vista own goal and a last-minute Isabel Hodgson goal assisted in the win as they erased any concern that arose from their opponent's third-minute goal. Currently still six points behind league leaders West Adelaide, Adelaide City must look to continue their great run of form which has seen them record back-to-back victories as they search to catch their rivals.

Adelaide University has the honour of being only one of three teams to take points off Adelaide City this season, with this week's away side recording a 2-1 win over their opponents in Round Four. A Tanaye Morris first-half double provided Adelaide University with the victory, as her quick double saw Katie Bowler’s eighth-minute finish cancelled out.

Like Adelaide City, Adelaide University is currently experiencing a two-game winning streak, which has seen them beat Fulham United and most recently WT Birkalla who they beat 1-0 with Milano Venter’s 40th-minute goal being the decisive moment. Their win over WT Birkalla has seen them jump from sixth, into fifth, with only goal difference separating them and a place in the current top four. A win for Adelaide University could potentially see them jump into the top four if Adelaide Comets are to drop points, while will prove valuable heading into the final rounds of the season.

(24/6/22) Quarter-Finals WNPL & WSL Cup | West Adelaide 1 v Salisbury Inter 0

Salisbury Inter

West Adelaide looks to continue their outstanding reign of dominance as they take on a strong Salisbury Inter side at the State Centre for Football. With a 2-0 win over Metro United WFC in Round 12 which saw Nicole Blackett and Harriet Burnett both secure goals, West Adelaide extended their run to eleven consecutive victories in the league. That win took West Adelaide to six points clear from second-placed Adelaide City with only six games to go. West Adelaide will be eager to continue their great run of form as they prepare for an important Semi-Final matchup next week in the WNPL & WSL Cup.

West Adelaide would like to continue their great run of form against Salisbury Inter this season which has seen them secure two wins against their opponents. Their last victory came two weeks ago when they knocked Salisbury Inter out of the WNPL & WSL Cup with a 1-0 win which saw Georgia Macri score the decisive goal. West Adelaide also secured a 2-1 win in Round Four, which saw Racheal Quigley win the game for her side with a double from the penalty spot in the final 15 minutes, erasing Nicole Calder's first-minute goal.

Salisbury Inter will be devasted after they dropped their first points since their Round Seven loss to Adelaide City, as Adelaide Comets secured a 1-0-win last week. That loss ended a four-game winning streak, which has now seen the side drop to third and now face an eight-point gap to try and catch the current league leaders. Three points will be vital for Salisbury Inter as they look to jump back into second, with a loss this round potentially seeing them fall five points behind second if Adelaide City is to win. Can Salisbury Inter be the first team since Adelaide City in Round One to beat West Adelaide this season?

Modbury Vista

Although facing defeat last week, Metro United WFC is currently on the back of a great period of form and is eager to extend it as they look to close the gap with the top four. Metro United WFC faced their sixth defeat of the season as they were beaten 2-0 by West Adelaide, however, became only the fourth team this season to concede only two or less against the current league leaders while improving on their 8-1 loss earlier in the season. Currently sitting in seventh, there is only a four-point gap separating themselves and the top four. With only six games left of the season, every point counts as they look to keep their ambitions of Finals alive.

It was an evenly contested encounter last time both teams met in Round Four which saw Metro United WFC secure a 3-2 victory. Modbury Vista was unable to hold a lead in the game for long, with Victoria Mansueto scoring in the 20th minute, while Emma Cotgrove found the winner in the 55th minute.
