Modbury Vista vs Fulham United
6:15 pm | Friday 22 July | ServiceFM Stadium
Last Meeting: (7/5/22) Round Six | Fulham United 1 v Modbury Vista 1

Modbury Vista host Fulham United in the opening match of Round 14 in the WNPLSA, with both teams aiming to distance themselves from the bottom of the table. Heading into the final five matches of the season, Modbury Vista remains bottom of the WNPLSA with only three points recorded in their opening 13 games. Currently, on the back of three consecutive defeats, Modbury Vista has looked better in recent weeks, with the team narrowly missing an opportunity to secure a valuable point last round as they lost 1-0 to Metro United WFC. Currently, only three points separate Modbury Vista and Fulham United in eighth, with a win providing a great opportunity for the club to distance themselves from the relegation zone.
When the teams met in Round Six action, the teams shared the point as the game finished with a 1-1 score line. Angela Mills opened the scoring for Fulham United in the 14th minute in that encounter, while Elisabeth Dodds restored the deficit for Modbury Vista only minutes before the half-time break.
Having struggled throughout the season in front of goals, Fulham United have looked to have turned a corner, with the team scoring four goals between their last two matches. Angela Mills has played a vital role in this resurgence as she recorded three of the four goals, contributing to impressive performances by her side which included a 2-2 draw with Football SA NTC and most recently narrowly losing to top-four hopefuls Adelaide Comets in a 3-2 result. Three points this round will see them go six points clear from last place with the squad hoping they can bring their recent goal-scoring form to this match as they face the team that has currently conceded the most goals.
