After facing three defeats in a row, Football SA NTC looks to get their season back on track as they face Modbury Vista at the State Centre for Football. Struggling in recent weeks, Football SA NTC has picked up losses against Adelaide City, Adelaide Comets and most recently West Adelaide who beat the young squad 5-0. Having not won since Round Four and currently sitting in seventh in the league, Football SA NTC is eager to regain a good run of form as they search to re-enter the top four.

Their opponents Modbury Vista are currently still searching for their first win of the season, after starting the year with six losses and only two draws. After securing two consecutive draws in a row, Modbury Vista was unable to continue this and gain more points as they lost to Adelaide University 3-1 in Round Eight, with Leah Noto scoring her first goal of the season. Having finally removed themselves from the bottom spot, Modbury Vista is looking to jump into eighth with a valuable win in Round Nine.

An exciting matchup is upon us as a red-hot Adelaide Comets face first-place West Adelaide at the State Centre for Football. Adelaide Comets has been unbeatable over the last five games, which has seen them win four and draw one, as they are currently on a run of three consecutive wins. In their last fixture, Adelaide Comets performed in one of the shocking results of the season as they demolished second place Adelaide City 8-2. In this matchup Chrissy Panagaris dominated proceedings, securing five goals, while her teammate Georgie Nicola secured a hattrick. Currently sitting in fourth, level on points with Salisbury Inter in third, a win for Adelaide Comets could potentially see them enter the top three.

Adelaide Comets' unbelievable form can only be topped by one team now and that is current league leaders West Adelaide. Since Round One, West Adelaide has remained perfect, winning seven out of seven which has seen them score 40 goals already while only conceding seven goals. In their last four fixtures, the side has not conceded a goal, demonstrating their incredible defensive ability, while their attacking has almost been better, scoring 18 goals in this period. After facing a shock defeat in Round Eight, Adelaide City look to bounce back after they face Fulham United in Round Nine. In their last fixture, Adelaide City was beaten 8-2 by Adelaide Comets in dramatic fashion, with Katie Bowler and Isabel Hodgson’s goals merely being personal merits at the completion of the game. Facing only their second defeat of the season, Adelaide City has now fallen three points behind league leaders West Adelaide who have a significantly superior goal difference. Adelaide City will be eager to reduce that margin in Round Nine as they search for their seventh win of the season.

Fulham United will be devasted after dropping to tenth place after their Round Eight loss to Salisbury Inter. There was nothing to celebrate on the day for Fulham United as Salisbury Inter beat them 9-1, marking their sixth loss of the season. Natasha Vella scored the team's only goal of the match, while the team will be without Josephine Trimboli in this upcoming fixture as she picked up a red card in that encounter. Currently, one point off eighth a win could potentially see Fulham United exit the bottom two.

Currently two points off second place Adelaide City, a win could see the team jump into second if Adelaide City drops points, while they search to close the five-point gap with first-place West Adelaide.

WT Birkalla is still searching for their first win of the season after starting the season with zero wins in their opening eight games, while drawing three and losing five. In their last fixture, WT Birkalla lost to Metro United WFC 3-0, marking their fourth game without scoring a goal this season, demonstrating their inability to score goals thus far. However, the team still holds the joint 5th best defensive record in the competition. Currently eight points behind seventh-place Football SA NTC, WT Birkalla will be eager to potentially close this gap, while they search to distance themselves from the bottom two as they enter into the second half of the season.

The stand-alone WNPLSA fixture on Saturday afternoon will see Metro United WFC host Adelaide University at TK Shutter Reserve. Metro United WFC has continued to improve in recent weeks as they are currently on a run of two consecutive wins, beating bottom three sides Fulham United and most recently WT Birkalla. They beat WT Birkalla 3-0 in Round Eight as Emma Cotgrove, Victoria Mansueto and Sarah Taylor all secured goals. Currently sitting in sixth, Metro United WFC are one point off fifth place Adelaide University, with a win taking them to fifth, while they try and close the four-point gap between them and third place Salisbury Inter.

Adelaide University returned to winning ways in Round Eight after four games without a win which saw them lose three and draw one. In their last fixture, Adelaide University beat Modbury Vista 3-1, with Stella Rigon, Hayley Needs and Chanel Todino all securing goals on the day to lead their team to victory. Adelaide University will hope to start a good run of form as they search to close the gap between themselves and the current top four. Currently sitting three points out of the top four, a win could be extremely valuable, while a loss will see them drop to sixth.

We have three exciting Women's State League matchups for you this Sunday afternoon. Current sixth place Cove FC look to jump into fifth at the end of Round Nine as the host current fifth-place side Modbury Jets at Marion Sports & Community Club. Cove FC are currently on the back of a two-game losing streak and is eager to break it, while Modbury Jets look to build upon their two-game winning streak. In other action sees current league leaders Flinders United host current strugglers Elizabeth Grove. Currently holding a two-point lead at the top of the Women's State League, Flinders United are looking to expand this at the end of Round Nine. Elizabeth Grove and looking to break its current four-game losing streak. The last fixture for Round Nine will see the current bottom side of Campbelltown City take on a strong Adelaide Jaguars side who are looking to jump back into the top two. Adelaide Jaguars have struggled in recent weeks, winning one of their last three, while Campbelltown City search to remove themselves from the bottom of the table.
