Female Football Week 2026 is here, and South Australia is ready to celebrate the players, clubs, and community members driving the women’s game forward. From grassroots activations to high-profile events, here's a look at the week ahead.

WHAT'S HAPPENING THIS FEMALE FOOTBALL WEEK
Friday, 8 May
Event: Female Football Week Opening Night
Location: Various venues
Details: Female Football Week begins with WNPL and WSL matches across the state.

Adelaide Jaguars v Sturt Lions — West Beach Parks, 7:45pm

Event: Female Referee Networking & Match Day Experience
Location: West Beach Parks
Time: 8:15pm
Details: A match day experience and networking opportunity for female referees, led by Izzi Cooper.
Saturday, 9 May
Event: Female Football Week Launch
Location: ServiceFM Stadium
Details: The official Female Football Week launch will feature MiniRoos and junior girls matches, a female-only referee course, WNPL fixtures, partner activations, awards, and a special group photo celebrating women and girls in football.
MiniRoos / Junior Girls Matches:
U7, U8 and U9 girls matches will take place on the Football Five5 courts from 12:00pm–3:00pm.
Female Only JFMO Course:
A Junior Football Match Official Course will be held from 9:00am–1:00pm, leading into the WNPL matches.
Scheduled Matches:
Flinders United v Salisbury Inter — 12:45pm
Football SA v West Adelaide — 3:15pm
Adelaide University v WT Birkalla — 3:15pm
Additional Activations:
The day will also include Female Football Week Awards, with nominees recognised and awards presented prior to the 3:00pm kick-off.
A Female Football Week group photo will take place on the pitch prior to the 3:00pm kick-off, celebrating the theme of developing the next generation of women in football. The photo will include MiniRoos, junior players, senior players, past and present players, and match officials.
There will also be a half-time kick around for young female players on Pitch 1, a Female Referee Networking & Match Day Experience, and partner activations throughout the day.
Sunday, 10 May
Event: Junior Girls and Community Fixtures
Location: Various venues
Details: Clubs across the state will celebrate Female Football Week through junior girls and community fixtures.
Event: Mother’s Day Activation
Location: Various venues
Details: Clubs will recognise Mother’s Day by celebrating mothers and children, with teams encouraged to create moments such as players walking out with their mums and sharing content across social media.
Friday, 15 May
Event: WNPL Match Night
Time: From 6:00pm
Location: ServiceFM Stadium
Details: WNPL matches will continue the Female Football Week celebrations with a night of football at ServiceFM Stadium.
Saturday, 16 May
Event: Leadership and Connection Session
Time: 10:00am
Location: ServiceFM Stadium
Details: A round table session with Kerry Harris focused on leadership, connection, and empowering women in football.
Sunday, 17 May
Event: Junior and Community Fixtures

Details: Female Football Week wraps up with junior and community fixtures across the state, celebrating the contribution of women and girls at all levels of football.
