Why did you become a coach?

After a long playing career, I wanted to stay involved in the game. I am still very competitive and enjoy being part of a club. Coaching gave me the opportunity to stay involved in the game at the level I played.

Who is your coaching idol; and why?

Carl Maynard is the reason why I became a coach. He is an absolute legend of a bloke who spent many years helping me learn the finer aspects of coaching.

What has been your biggest achievement(s) as a coach?

My biggest achievement has to be winning the Coach of the Year in both 2019 (Modbury Jets) & 2021 (WT Birkalla)

Best SA team to watch, past or present, that excites you as a coach.

I really enjoyed watching Elizabeth Downs play in the FFA Cup Preliminary Rounds in 2019. Their win over MetroStars is the reason we all love this game.

What excites you most about the 2022 Season?

Leading WT Birkalla back into the RAA NPLSA, I was lucky enough to win the Super League with Birkalla in 1998 so I hope to start a new journey with the club.

Name a player in your squad under the age of 23 who we should look out for in 2022 and why?

We have quite a few youngsters in our team, Luca Trimboli, Jonny D'Arrigo, Chris Ashwood & Austin Ayoubi just to name a few.

Which new transfer are you most excited to be working with and why?

Stefan Simic has started brightly with us and is someone I feel I can help. As a forward I am looking to help him progress his career.

And finally....Besides finishing as high in the table as possible, what are your goals for the season ahead?

To ensure the club is respected and competitive in the NPL, we are not here to make up the numbers
