Celebrating the Volunteers Who Keep Football Moving

This National Volunteer Week, Football South Australia proudly acknowledges and thanks the thousands of volunteers who give their time, energy and passion to football across South Australia.

Behind every match, training session, canteen shift, committee meeting, registration, line marking job, social post, fundraiser and game day setup is a volunteer helping make football possible.

From community clubs and regional centres to the elite level of the game, volunteers are the backbone of football in South Australia. Their contribution goes far beyond the hours they give. They help create safe, welcoming and inclusive environments where players, coaches, referees, families and supporters can connect, grow and enjoy the game.

Whether you are the first to arrive to open the grounds, the last to leave after packing up, the person organising fixtures late at night, driving teams across the state, mentoring young players, serving on committees, coaching, officiating, or simply lending a hand wherever needed, your contribution matters.

Football in South Australia simply would not exist without volunteers.

This week is an opportunity to recognise the people who often work quietly behind the scenes without expectation of recognition. Your commitment, care and love for the game help strengthen clubs, communities and the future of football.

On behalf of Football South Australia, thank you to every volunteer across our game.

Your time is valued.
Your effort is appreciated.
And your impact is felt every single week.

Happy National Volunteer Week.
