Salisbury Inter delivered a thrilling performance as they overcame West Adelaide, a team they had failed to beat all season, in a crucial match that mattered most.

Salisbury Inter's form has surged with the return of key players Emily Condon, Nicole Calder, and Zoe Tolland. Despite questions raised about West Adelaide following Racheal Quigley's departure, West continued to excel, winning every game in their path.

In their previous encounter, penalties had decided the outcome, setting the stage for another tightly contested match.

Salisbury struck first with a fortunate goal when a scrambled corner resulted in an own goal by Meleri Mullan, who was attempting to clear the danger.

As both teams headed into halftime, neither side had capitalised on any clear chances.

The second half saw West Adelaide pushing hard for an equaliser. Their fans thought they had it when West Adelaide Captain Nicole Blackett's shot was saved and Leah Noto's follow-up attempt was ruled offside. Despite their efforts, West Adelaide could only manage four shots off target.

It just wasn’t West Adelaide’s day. Zoe Tolland sealed the victory for Salisbury Inter with a stunning stoppage-time chip over West Adelaide goalkeeper Erin Murphy.
