Football South Australia’s Annual General Meeting was held on Wednesday 22 May 2024 at ServiceFM Stadium. With President Estelle Bowman signing off on what has been a tremendous year in the football community.
Football SA President, Estelle Bowman provided a whole of sport report to members and highlighted the many achievements by the football community during 2023.
The success of our sport depends on the passion and dedication of those who contribute at all levels and Football would not be in the strong position that it is today without the valuable contribution made by the volunteers who manage operations at club and association level.Players and referees need to be commended for their passion, commitment, and love of the game.
Local Government has also been a great friend of Football providing much needed funding and investment in our sport supporting the appetite for soccer in South Australia. Together we can make more impactful investments in community football, ensuring a positive and more inclusive community for every participant in South Australia.
Our sport and the opportunities that it provides would not be possible without the willing corporate partners, our clubs and associations, our match officials, our committees and boards, and the dedicated volunteers who support the game in South Australia.
Football SA had three vacant positions to fill at the AGM. Six director nominations were received, and Football SA Members voted to fill the three positions. Paul Centofanti, Symoane Mercurio (re-elected) and Martin Small (appointed to elected) will serve four-year terms and join a dedicated group of directors.
Football SA President, Estelle Bowman paid tribute to outgoing directors, Tony Taormina, Joe Franco and Paul Mertin who have contributed strongly to the advancement of the code in South Australia and have been integral in their rolls as directors. Football SA thanks Tony, Joe, and Paul for their contribution to our organisation over the years.
President also thanked the Board Directors, CEO and Staff at Football SA for their work and commitment.

Following the Annual General Meeting, the Board of Directors met with Estelle Bowman stepping down as President. Estelle Bowman will continue her role as a director and the Directors formally appointed Dr Jane Rathjen as President.
