South Australia’s premier women’s football competition is poised for another landmark campaign, with Football South Australia officially confirming the squad lists for the 2026 Apex Steel WNPL season.
Ten clubs will contest the state’s top-flight women’s league, as a compelling mix of established powerhouses, rising challengers, and top-tier development programs gear up to compete for the ultimate honours.
The confirmed clubs for the 2026 season are:
- Adelaide Comets Football Club
- Adelaide University Soccer Club
- Campbelltown City Soccer Club
- Flinders United Football Club
- Football SA State Squad
- MetroStars Soccer Club
- Modbury Vista Soccer Club
- Salisbury Inter Soccer Club
- West Adelaide Soccer Club
- WT Birkalla Soccer Club
The 2026 campaign kicks off under lights on Friday night, with four matches launching the new season. The opening fixture will see newly promoted Modbury Vista begin life in the topflight against Football SA State Squad at ServiceFM Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 6:15pm.
That clash will be followed by Adelaide University facing Flinders United at 8:15pm, rounding out a double-header at ServiceFM Stadium.
Elsewhere, WT Birkalla host last season’s finalists Campbelltown City in an 8:30pm Friday night showdown at Jack Smith Park. Reigning premiers West Adelaide will also take centre stage, meeting Grand Final winners Adelaide Comets in what looms as one of the headline fixtures of Round One. That encounter is set for an 8:30pm kick-off at Kilburn Sportsplex.
The final match of the opening round will see MetroStars face Salisbury Inter, who enter the season celebrating their 60th year, adding further significance to an already eagerly anticipated contest.
With squads finalised and anticipation building across the state, the stage is set for another thrilling year of elite women’s football in South Australia.
