The 2025 Football Australia National Futsal Championships, held in Melbourne, showcased the nation’s best Futsal talent, while also providing a key development opportunity and pathway for inspiring Futsal referees.
Denis Palushaj and Jayden Betterman represented Football SA at the championships as referees, with Andrew Murray, Sean Grimmond, and Raymond Grima attending as Referee Coaches.
A defining moment of the Championships came during the Under 15 Boys Grand Final, where Palushaj was appointed as Referee 1, and Betterman as his Third Referee. This appointment was a testament to their performance and efforts throughout the championships.
Ray Grima, a pillar of the Futsal refereeing community, was also recognised by Football Australia for his outstanding efforts and contribution to Futsal in Australia. With a remarkable career spanning over three decades, Ray has been a driving force in South Australian Futsal since 1992. His extensive roles as a player, coach, team manager, competition administrator, and Futsal Referee Coach have left an indelible mark on the sport.
