Croydon Kings claimed victory in dramatic fashion, coming from behind to steal a 3-2 victory in injury time over Campbelltown City away from home.
The Kings started the game in nightmarish fashion, however, as Trey Williams was fouled in the 18-yard box inside the first 20 seconds, a penalty which was duly converted by Alexander Mullen to hand Campbelltown an early lead.
The visitors found an equaliser in added time, though, as Patrick Caraccia floated a perfect ball into skipper Luke Klimek, who chipped the keeper to level the scores for Croydon before half-time.
Williams put Campbelltown back in front in the 67th minute, running down the left before curling the ball in at the far post cleverly to make it 2-1 with just over 20 minutes to play.
Croydon won a penalty of their own thanks to a foul on Adam Martinello, which was scored by Domenic Costanzo in the 79th minute to restore parity in the contest for a second time.
As both sides searched for a winner in injury time, Caraccia teed up Peter Mercurio from outside the box, who swept his long range effort powerfully into the top corner to hand the Kings all three points.
Adelaide City thrashed Cumberland United 5-0 in their top of the table clash, while Adelaide Croatia Raiders and Adelaide Olympic played out a six-goal thriller that finished all square.
MetroStars and South Adelaide picked up handy away wins over Adelaide United and Adelaide Blue Eagles, but the points were shared between Sturt Lions and Adelaide Comets, who drew 1-1.
