With Round Two just around the corner, we take a quick look at this week’s matchups in State League One and State League Two.
State League One
The two State League One highflyers meet in Round Two, as Playford City travels to Smith Partners Stadium to play Modbury Jets in Friday night action at 7:30 pm. Both clubs ran riot in Round One with Playford beating newly-promoted Port Adelaide in a convincing 5-0 win, while Modbury Jets showed their dominance with a 4-2 victory over Fulham United. Playford and Modbury will both be eager to take an early lead at the top of the State League One ladder. Modbury Jets striker Josh Farrell will participate in his first match against his former club after leaving them at the completion of the 2021 season.
Adelaide University SC makes the trip to Ngarrpadla (Taperoo Reserve) as they face their 2021 State League Two rivals Port Adelaide. With both clubs experiencing defeats in Round One, they will aim to obtain their first three points of the season. Adelaide University SC was superior to their opponents in 2021 winning three out of the four meetings, which ultimately lead them to the League Championship. Adelaide Croatia Raiders take on a rejuvenated West Adelaide. West Adelaide will aim to change their fortunes after missing the chance of three points after conceding a 95th-minute equaliser against Para Hills Knights last Saturday, while Adelaide Croatia Raiders will look to improve on their shaky 1-1 draw with Adelaide Victory.
In other State League One action sees Adelaide Victory host Eastern United, while Para Hills Knights travel to the Hawks Nest as they take on Adelaide Hills. Adelaide Blue Eagles close off Round Two with a Monday night fixture against Fulham United FC at Marden Sports Complex.

State League Two
Adelaide Cobras host last season’s Grand Finalist Vipers FC at Pro Paint & Panel Oval – Weigall Oval. With both clubs aiming for promotion to State League One, securing three points against fellow promotion rivals will be vital. Vipers FC enters Round Two off a hard-fought 1-1 draw with fellow promotion hunters Noarlunga United. While Adelaide Cobras look to pick up their second win of the season after their 1-0 victory over a strong Seaford Rangers, with Perry Mitris’s 75th-minute goal securing the three points.
In other State League Two action, Mount Barker United SC face Modbury Vista at Summit Sport and Recreation Park. Mount Barker will be in great spirits entering Saturday’s game fresh off their first win in over two years after their extraordinary 6-2 win over Gawler Eagles in Round One. Modbury Vista will look to cut their party short as they look to earn their first points of the season after their Round One 1-0 loss to Salisbury United.
Other matches include Cove FC clash with Western Strikers, Salisbury United host Seaford Rangers in their first match back at Steve Jarvis Park, Pontian Eagles SC travel to Wilfred Taylor Reserve to challenge Noarlunga United, while Northern Demons and Gawler Eagles FC faceoff at Byrne Park.
