Ghan Kilburn City FC – FFA Cup South Australian Preliminary Rounds
Following the outcome of the South Australian Amateur Soccer League (SAASL) Disciplinary Hearing in relation to Ghan Kilburn City FC (the Club), Football SA reviewed the findings and issued the Club with a show-cause regarding its ongoing participation in the FFA Cup South Australian Preliminary Rounds.
Football SA reviewed the response of the Club in conjunction with the findings of the SAASL Disciplinary Committee and advice from Football Australia, the governing body of the FFA Cup.
In considering the information, Football SA has determined that the Club has breached the statutes of Football Australia, inclusive of the Code of Conduct, which govern all affiliated competitions conducted in Australia. Given the seriousness of the breaches, and penalty imposed by the SAASL Disciplinary Committee, Football SA has determined that the Club will be withdrawn from participating in the FFA Cup South Australian Preliminary Rounds for the 2021 season with immediate effect.
All Clubs that participate in affiliated competitions have an obligation to adhere to Football Australia and Football SA statutes. In breaching such requirements, the image and the reputation of the sport can be severely damaged resulting in players, spectators and sponsors withdrawing their support of the sport.
Salisbury United will be issued with a Bye for Round 2 of the FFA Cup South Australian Preliminary Rounds and will progress to Round 3.
