TOM BRINKWORTH SET FOR A-LEAGUE MEN DEBUT
Friday 21 November 2025 – Adelaide United v Melbourne City
Coopers Stadium, 7.05 pm (local)

Football South Australia is proud to announce that Tom Brinkworth will make his A-League Men debut as Fourth Official this Friday when Adelaide United host Melbourne City at Coopers Stadium.

Tom’s journey is a true South Australian development story. He first joined football as a young player at 5 years old, before discovering refereeing and taking up the whistle in 2018. Since then, he has progressed through every stage of the referee pathway with commitment, discipline and a genuine love for the game.

Across his career, Tom has delivered over 83 senior men’s appointments, including 27 First Division, 30 Second Division, 17 Third Division and 9 Cup matches. In 2025 he added a major milestone, taking charge of the State League 1 Grand Final as Referee. His growth has also been recognised through several awards, including Rising Star in 2021 and Youth Referee of the Year in 2022, 2023 and 2024.

Tom’s presence on and off the field has made him a standout within the FSA Match Officials group. He sets high standards, embraces coaching, and consistently supports the referees coming through behind him.

Michelle Smith, GM Referee Education, Training and Compliance had this to say about Tom:
“I’ve had the privilege of being part of Tom’s officiating journey from very early on, and I am incredibly proud of the referee and person he has become. His work ethic, humility and passion for officiating the game shine through in everything he does. This debut is a special moment and one he has truly earned.”
