Football South Australia is saddened to hear of the passing of Hall of Fame member, John Miller.
After migrating to Australia in 1968 from Auchinairn, Lanark, Scotland, John contributed to the game of football in South Australia as a Player, Referee, Assistant Referee, Coach and Administrator. He was also a Life Member of the South Australian Referees Association.
John's services to officiating in the game in South Australia include:
- Chairman of the SA Referees Association
- NSL Referee and NSL Referee Member
- Sat on the National Coaching Panel
- Referee Inspector (SA and NSL)
In 1981, John was Member Referees Liaison Team for FIFA World Youth Championships, as well as Liaison Officer to the FIFA General Coordinator World Youth Championships 1993. He was also a Staff Member in the Olympic Management Group Olympic Qualifiers in 1996 and Referees Supervisor Olympic Games in 2000.
In 2006, John was inducted into the Football South Australia Hall of Fame as a member for distinguished contribution
