WNPLSA RAA Goals Wrap | Round Ten

Adelaide City hold onto 3rd spot after overcoming NTC 3-1 at home. Alana Fitzsimmons got things rolling for City in the 55th minute, getting on the end of a through ball on the right wing and putting it past NTC’s keeper. Bianca Gray then pounced on some loose passing, putting City 2-0 up in the 57th. Three minutes later Chelsie Dawber noticed the NTC keeper in a precarious position and cheekily chipped it over her head, 3-0. NTC got one back but it wasn’t enough to turn the tide.

Round 10

Metro United leapfrog NTC into fourth position after their 2-2 draw with league leaders West Adelaide. It was West Adelaide that took the first advantage, as Christie Hillyer neatly controlled a low-ball into the box, twisted her body and tucked the ball into the bottom right corner. Metro responded five minutes later through Rochelle Draper’s corner, which went straight through the keeper’s hands. West Adelaide struck again in the 36th, the source of the goal coming as no surprise as Nicole Tilley once again scored from distance. Millie Scott equalised in the 70th minute, as she finished off a 1v1 and put it through the keeper’s legs for 2-2.

Comets got a much needed 1-0 win over Adelaide Uni, which sees them move past their opponents on the ladder and into 6th. Comets were able to snuff out some loose build up play and put together some passes of their own in the final third, this move was finished off by Hannah Jenkin, who played an intelligent 1-2 before finally smashing it into the roof of the net.

Fulham’s struggles continued over the weekend as they were trounced by the in-form Salisbury Inter, 5-0. The goals were shared by Heazlewood, Condon, Ryder and Rojas Pino who grabbed two. Fulham’s lacklustre performance is compounded by the fact they sit in last position, still without a win this season. Inter however, are having an impressive season and currently sit in 2nd place.
