Women in Football – Leadership & Connection Session to Feature Kerry Harris

As part of Female Football Week 2026, Football South Australia will host a Women in Football – Leadership & Connection Session at ServiceFM Stadium, providing an opportunity for women across the game to connect, share experiences and explore leadership and development pathways in football.

The session will be held on Saturday 16 May 2026, from 10:00am to 12:00pm at ServiceFM Stadium, bringing together players, referees, coaches, club administrators, volunteers and emerging female leaders from across the South Australian football community.

Designed as a structured but informal session, Women in Football – Leadership & Connection will focus on connecting women involved in all areas of football, promoting leadership and development opportunities, providing insight into governance and pathways within the game, and introducing the Women Onside network to the South Australian football community.

The session will feature Kerry Harris FCPA, GAICD, a sports administrator and governance professional with over forty years of involvement in women's football across three states, from grassroots to international level.

Kerry's football governance roles have included Football Australia's Finance, Audit and Risk Standing Committee, Non-Executive Director of the former Women's Soccer Australia, and Secretary/Treasurer of Women's Soccer WA. She is a Life Member of Football West.

On the international stage, she held tour leader roles with the Matildas and was appointed USA Team Liaison Manager at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.

Kerry is Chair of Women Onside, a national not-for-profit advocating for gender equity in Australian football. Under her leadership, Women Onside has developed the WO Index and Coach Tracker, evidence-based tools tracking the representation of women in coaching and leadership, the development Getting on Board program, and launched the Maria Berry AM Coaching Scholarship to support the next generation of women coaches.

Her broader career spans professional roles in football, AFL, gymnastics, the 2007 World Swimming Championships, the Australian Sports Commission, and the Stawell Gift. She runs Focus Consultants, serving for-purpose and sport sector clients.

Kerry also serves as a Non-Executive Director at Rocky Bay and a Councillor at RAC WA.

The event forms part of Football South Australia’s Female Football Week celebrations, running from 8–17 May 2026, recognising and celebrating the contribution of women and girls across all levels of the game.
